WEMBLEY STADIUM LIFTS

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Two precast concrete shafts were installed within the Wembley Stadium concourse area. Each accommodating two lifts with a new link bridge structure connecting these to existing stadium concourse.

Techniker Consulting Engineers provided structural design services for the precast concrete lift shaft structure based on the performance specification.

The structural analysis and design carried out by included;

• Load take-down on the shafts
• Reactions from the shafts on the in-situ concrete foundations
• Slab and wall panel design
• Design of joints and vertical ties
• Assessment of structure under accidental loading conditions
