PROJECT DESCRIPTION
David was responsible for the delivery of the civil and structural design of this 30-storey commercial building forming the first part of the Swire Group’s redevelopment of the Quarry Bay area in Hong Kong.
The building included four levels of basement and was constructed using simultaneous top down and bottom up techniques, utilizing diaphragm walls with deep hand-dug foundations and requiring continuously monitored dewatering and recharging.
Associated works included relocation and co‑ordination of services and utilities into and around the site, construction of an enclosed steel footbridge providing safe access to the nearest rail station, and a sewage pumping station to serve the development.
